Text: Luke 16-18; Ecclesiastes 3
In Luke 18:15-17, people bring little children to Jesus that he might touch them. The disciples rebuke them, but Jesus tells them it is okay, concluding,
Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.
Simple trust, simple faith, simple hope is what matters. We can make it all so very complicated with doctrines and explanations and questions. Jesus here reminds us that trusting Him is very simple. Jesus is good, and He is God, and we ought come to Him like a little child. I cannot help but think of how my eight month old granddaughter smiles at me and cuddles in close when I pick her up. Utter trust in utter simplicity. That is how Jesus wants us to come to Him.
