Text: 1 Corinthians 3-5; Psalm 97
You and I have been entrusted with the powerful, life-giving Gospel of Jesus – the great mystery of God which brings eternal life and peace with God. Consider these words from 1 Corinthians 4:1-2:
“This is how one should regard us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful.”
A steward is one who has charge of his master’s affairs, goods, money – whatever the master has entrusted to him. The faithful steward always does what his master would will for that which is entrusted. If he is to keep it safe, he does so. If it is to invest it wisely, he does so. If it is to distribute it with care, he does that. It is the Lord’s will that we would proclaim the Gospel high and low, with clarity, boldness and faith. May we be found faithful.
in Him, Mike
