Text: 2 Corinthians 11 (2 Kings 3-4).
Appearances can mislead. All is not necessarily as it seems.
…even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. (2 Corinthians 11:14)
When we encounter the devil, he probably will not manifest as ugly or scary. He certainly won’t be wearing a red union suit and sporting horns. He is most likely to show up as appealing, handsome or beautiful, well dressed, polite, perhaps even kind and generous. His words will be soft, winsome and soothing. He will offer things that seem nice, good, that promise satisfaction and pleasure, joy… even “love.” But under that sightly veneer is deceit, malice, hate, destruction and death. If you fall for his game, you will find that the sweet promises turn bitter, the pleasure brings pain, and the hope of the joy he offers always leads to hopeless despair. Beware!
