Good morning!
Text:  John 15  (Deuteronomy 11-12)
I came to the Lord at a marriage conference,  On that day Lyn and I were given a little banner to stick on our refrigerator.  On it were these words, words spoken by Jesus:

“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide…” (John 15:16)

Today when I read these words, I remembered how blown away I was by the idea that Jesus chose me.  What an incredible idea, that the Lord, the Savior of all, the Creator, chooses us.  And then to think that He “appoints” us to bring forth everlasting fruit.  That means the lives we live will have impact that lasts forever.  What privilege we have!  That day when I met Jesus I was so excited by this.  How about today, nearly 27 years later?  May we always be thrilled that He picked us, and may we also be reminded of the gravity of our calling – to bring forth fruit that lasts forever.
in Him, Mike
