Good morning!

Text:  Luke 11 (Leviticus 19-20)
In Luke 11, Jesus instructs regarding prayer.  He speaks of a man who goes to his friend’s house in the night to borrow some bread to feed a guest.  The friend, already in bed, tells him to go away. Jesus says,

“I tell you, though he will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his impudence he will rise and give him whatever he needs.” (Luke 11:)

The man seeking bread refuses to go away, but keeps asking.  Other translations render that word, “impudence” as “persistence.” Why would he keep at it?  Because he has no “plan B.”  This is the way the Lord wants us to see Him and see prayer.  Our only way is to go to the Lord in prayer. When we act knowing that we have no alternative – when our trust is on nothing but the Lord – we have stepped into life-defining faith.  To have no other way than the Lord – that is faith.  And that is what He most wants from us.  Verse 9 continues;

“And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find;knock, and it will be opened to you.”
