Good morning!

Today is a reflection day.
Usually I use my reflection day to page back through the last week’s readings and see if something grabs my attention.  We have been reading Joshua and Psalms this week.  The Old Testament lays the essential foundation of our great God’s character, for His holiness and righteousness, and for the reality that sinful people can never measure up to His perfect Law.  In the end, we can only conclude that we are helpless without a savior and we also see that God has promised one.
Today we reflect and celebrate on the fact that we indeed have a savior, Jesus Christ. We see His love for us as He lays down His life on the cross.  In the horror of the cross we see the awful nature of our own sin.  We deserve that punishment, but He took it for us.  What love!  What sacrifice!  As Psalm 57:9-11 says;
I will give thanks to you, O Lord, among the peoples;
    I will sing praises to you among the nations.
For your steadfast love is great to the heavens,
    your faithfulness to the clouds.
Be exalted, O God, above the heavens!
    Let your glory be over all the earth!–

in Him, Mike
