Good morning!

Text:  Habakkuk; Isaiah 45
Isaiah 45 speaks of a future king, Cyrus, who will be used by God to restore the captive Jews back to Jerusalem and the promised land.  It is a mark of the prophet’s credentials that Isaiah nails this 150 years before it happens.  Cyrus is a pagan king who does not know God, yet God directs his actions.

For the sake of my servant Jacob,
and Israel my chosen,
I call you by your name,
I name you, though you do not know me.
I am the Lord, and there is no other,
besides me there is no God;
I equip you, though you do not know me,  (Isaiah 45:4-5)

All the unbelievers in the world are subject to the sovereign power and will of the one true God. They just don’t know it yet. This truth is an essential backdrop to our prayer life for the lost.  We cry out to the Lord for them knowing He already has them under His mighty arm.  We pray knowing that God is in complete control.  We pray trusting that His will will indeed be done in their lives and in the ways they impact our lives.  Pray for the lost.   Amen!
in Him, Mike
