Text: Isaiah 1-4; Proverbs 1
Isaiah is a sweet and powerful prophecy filled with the beauty, power and promises of God. Included are invitations like this one:
“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,
to the house of the God of Jacob,
that he may teach us his ways
and that we may walk in his paths.” (Isaiah 2:3)
He invites us to come to Him – in this case to the temple atop Mount Moriah in Jerusalem. There, the Lord is able to teach us His ways so that we can walk in them. In the ways of God is where safety, fulfillment, prosperity, love and satisfaction are found. “Come,” He says. For us, coming to Him requires just a turning of our heart, just choosing to address Him, to listen for Him, to pray to Him, and to surrender to Him. When we do, we find ourselves upon the “mountain of God.” Won’t you come, and be blessed?
in Him, Mike
