Text: Psalm 1-3
Psalm 1 stands a faithful doorkeeper to the entire Psalter. It speaks to the blessings of a life established in one’s delight in God’s Word, and is apropos to our efforts together to read the Bible this year. Speaking of the one whose life is all about God’s Word. it says this:
He is like a tree
planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers. (Psalm 1:3)
Strength, growth, fruitfulness, steadfastness, prosperity – all good virtues come to the one who is established upon the Bible. Like that resilient willow tree or the abundant apple tree. This image is for us. Read the Word, meditate upon it, live it, and be blessed.
in Him, Mike
