Good morning!

Text:  Matthew 18  (Genesis 35-36)

Jesus has a heart for the lost – those that have wandered far, far away from God.  These are His words:

What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go in search of the one that went astray? And if he finds it, truly, I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine that never went astray. So it is not the will of my Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish. (Matthew 18:12-14)

Did you ever get “lost” when you were a child, separated from your parents, perhaps at a store or some crowded or some lonely place?  If not, it does not take much to imagine the child’s fear and the frantic search by that parent or care giver.  Most parents in that circumstance will do most anything to find that lost little one.  What a blessing it is to know that our Lord is like that.  When we have strayed, even rebelled like a teen runaway, His heart is to come, and to come and come until He finds us.  And that is just what He does.  When He found you and found me, He rejoiced over us.  This day, I encourage you to think on this wonderful truth.

in Him, Mike
