Text: Matthew 17 (Genesis 33-34)
In Matthew 17 we read the story of Jesus’ “transfiguration” where He takes Peter, John and James up a high mountain and His appearance changes. His face shines “like the sun and His clothes became white as light.” The Father speaks, and the disciples are terrified, falling on their faces. In 17:7 we read:
But Jesus came and touched them, saying, “Rise and have no fear.”
Jesus glorified will be a stunning sight. I am reminded of the Bible describing the scene where every knee bows and every tongue confesses Jesus as Christ and Lord. His words on the Mount of Transfiguration remind us that we will be welcomed into the Kingdom, as righteous before Him and before the Father. We will indeed be invited to “have no fear.” Peace and confidence will be ours. I can’t wait!
